Leaking R-1 oil cooler; Please help!

I just recently purchased a 93 R-1 rex. Not 3 days I get the car the passenger side oil cooler leaks! Anyways please guys help me locate a used one please. The local Mazda dealer wants to charge me $600 for a single new oil cooler!!! I cant afford this right now. If any of you can give me a phone number or such that would help. I'm searching all over the web but cant find all salvage yards. I'm stuck because its a rare piece. PLEASE any info, mods or any way around paying for a new oil cooler please let me know. Can i get a custom one from summit or fluydine for less? Thanks!

OK, you DON'T need a new one unless yours is damaged beyond repair. Check the lines running to it to see of they are the problem. If not, try taking the oil cooler to a local radiator shop. They ought to be able to seal it up for you.

Check to make sure it's your cooler, not the lines, connections etc. If you want to buy a used one you have many choices you can look at the parts for sale section or www.thepartstrader.com or you can check out the used mazda parts dealers (e.g. www.mazdarecycling.com). If you want to uprgrade them check out www.crookedwillow.com

good luck, and let us know what you decide before you buy.
