I am a ricer at heart. I kind of like the vertical doors. Most kits I have seen though, they angle outwards; which takes away the whole neato-ness. I wish there was a kit that forced the upwards rotation, without making it swivel. Besides, I could use the extra weight in my car.

Just to enlighten rx7wishing you need to open your ******* eyes their buddy. Look in that engine bay and tell me it looks stock. If you would read what was under the picture you so critically looked at you would see the basic mods, that you are claiming BS on. So don’t come in here running your ******* mouth cause you have 5k into your car, and raise the BS flag. This is the reason the forum is losing its good member that contribute valuable information, and all of your knowledge of your car consists of this website where people are like cattle they travel in a herd. Plus we made 406 RWHP on stock twins at 5k feet above sea level, and that was before the bigger ports and turbo!

Cool

SG We? It made 409 WHP @15psi on the stock turbos. 500 WHP with the new mods will be easy.

Scissor doors are functional, they should make it easier to get your foot out of the door without scratching against the panels. It also would prevent hitting the door against curbs because your car sits so close to the ground. Just because lots of civics have aftermarket ECU's, does that make it a bad idea? The Neon guys run turbos now, are you going to go N/A to avoid being like them?

RE Amemiya's (sp?) kit makes the doors go vertical only, but it costs somewhere in the $8-10k range to get the car converted. It involves using different (lighter) doors and judging by the pictures i have seen, they use a large electric or hydraulic actuator to open/close the doors. Not really practical to do (but then again, neither is a 600+hp 20b ) so thats why most people are stuck with using a kit that angles slightly outward.

See this thread for pics and descriptions: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...vertical+doors

I second that! Make a claim, with proof, they still don't believe it.... I ran 11.7 on stock turbos 2 years ago, even carried the timeslip with me....Posted several things on it and many people still "hated". Word

Rhymin is one of the guys who did all the work on this car. As far as the lambo doors, it makes it easy to get in and out of my car since I have to park so close to my Tahoe in the garage. Since then my Tahoe has been stolen. I knew alot of people wouldn't like the doors but I really could care less. They have a purpose more than just looks. I don't care if people pull the B.S. flag on me...I hardly believe the times it puts down too.

Oh yea....the hood maintains the stock lines completely! Definitely stock looking

I never understood why some ppl ignorantly hate on bodykits as being "rice" but then apply a different (double) standard to certain aftermarket appearance items, just cuz they may personally be fond of them. Get off your high horse... There's NOTHING to brag about when it comes to a car being "stock" other than a) it being in rare original condition, or b) how fast it is in stock form. End of story.

The rest of us just have a need to express ourselves, and one of the ways we do that is through our cars. I guess your love for a "stock" FD means you're a pretty plain/boring guy, huh?

Back on topic....MichaelB145, congrats on the car. Those are some incredible #s...how are you making that kind of power on the stock twins, might I ask? What's your secret?

Also, love the car. Very good lookin. And of course, I love the doors. But then again, that's just me being biased, cuz I have lambo doors too

I thought it was a gt35/40 kit on the car, not to mention the race built engine...ie large street port, bridgeport, etc? Which is it? Numbers with those in mind should be able to be made.

Hey shitface. maybe you need to open your ******* eyes. i dont have ******* go go gadget eyeballs. Only thing you can ******* see in his first pic is his rotorhousing-rotor-some polished pipes. and intrercooler. so go fly a kite loser.

Edit: my fault. i thought he was claiming 500rwhp on stock turbos.

but mmonaco, you can still go **** yourself.

Grrr. Everyone grow up.

There are much NICER ways to go about saying these things, and then you avoid frustration, looking *really* immature, and basically killing this forum.

Try: "Are you claiming 500hp on stock twins highly modified? I find that hard to believe....care to elaborate?"

And then: "Hey, I think he means on an aftermarket single. I've seen it before."

We can all do without the "Dumbass, Bitch, etc" since it really ONLY shows a lack of factual information or true argumentative points and simply makes you look like a 7th grader arguing over lunch.

I agree w/ you 100%. Sometimes we get worked up a bit too much over rather little things...

...and simply makes you look like a 7th grader arguing over lunch.
On that note, I never argued over someone else's lunch in 7th grade...I just took it from them

I dyno'ed at 409 horse power with stock twins, and now I have a GT35/40 and I said I should easily be over 500 horse. We will see. RX7Wishing...I think the only reason MMonoco was pissed is that you pulled the B.S. flag out before you had all the facts. MMonoco is just a New Yorker at heart with a quick temper. Me and him went at it also about some stupid **** and now were cool.

okay, now I'm curious. Stock twins, but what kind of motor? ported, etc? What boost level were you running? 409 on stock twins I think would be a record since that was a number with sr stage 3 units.

The engine did have a street port. I did also dyno at another dyno and it was 383 horse. Also the turbo fans were re-trimed.

I could be wrong but I thought the 383 was before the fuel system and FM. The day it pulled the 409, it had also pulled a few other low 400's. And about one week later that engine popped.

Your right the 383 was before the fuel system and the Greddy 2 row IC. I forgot about that...as far as why this topic changed to the engine...well...someone pulled the B.S. flag out on this car. As far as the doors go...I sell them for $1800 and will ship it to you. Email me if your interested. It is a bolt on kit. The first door took 6 hours and the second door only took 2 hours. It was a little easier once you figure out how they go on. Rhymin can answer any questions pertaining to the install. Like his avatar says..."he can fix that"!
