Koyo - ASP Medium IC Fitment questions

I did many searches and have PM'd many forum members, but no one seems to have the the setup that I'm inquiring about. Someone MUST have this...

Koyo Radiator, Rotary Extreme Closed Box Intake, ASP Medium IC.

Question is: I read that with installation of a Koyo Rad there may be problems with fitting the ASP Medium IC (pushing some portion of the IC setup, maybe the shroud, higher so the hood doesn't close), and may also rub a closed box intake system (like an M2 or RE).

Can someone who has this set up comment on fitment? Would getting a PWR / Fluidyne Rad eliminate the IC / hood problem?

So far, I have only locked down the ASP Medium IC (from group buy), I am free to purchase any intake and radiator combo, so please suggest away if you think the Koyo, RE CAI, combo is not optimal.

Thanks in advance!
Steve

You shouldn't have a problem....just got to bite the bullet and try.

I had the koyo but switched to fluidyne. If you follow the instructions that have been posted in the past about the install it should be ok. The area that needs to clear is the duct fitment. That is it shouldn't push the duct too high....

The other area that can be tight is the upper tube of the radiator as it runs underneath the cold are box....my Koyo kept hitting the RX7fashion box.

You can probably make it work....but you can also spend some more and get a fluidyne and not have to worry about it (however with my fluidyne, it still sits tight on the airbox)

Hope that helps....

fitting up that intake is gonna be a pain. none of the cold air intakes fit very well with the larger radiators.

As far as the intake goes, I had to dremel just a small amount of the plastic part of the fan assembly to make my M2 cai fit with my koyo. Took 2 seconds...

I have installed Koyos on about 3 cars with M2 intakes and I have had no fitment issues with the intake at all. My car has a Koyo, M2 intake and the Fisher Racing intercooler the other was Koyo, M2 intake and M2 med IC. The last car had Koyo, M2 intake and stock IC.
