It's 5AM: Time to Work on my Car!

So it's 5 in the morning now and I'm about to take my FD to a friends Gas Station to use his lift. Don't wanna get in the way you know? Gonna be putting the stock cat back on, replacing the midpipe. Why would I do this you say? Because with the stock pill, I have been spiking at 15psi or so and usually hit fuel cut along with the second turbo. Even a manual boost controller was too "restrictive" fully open. I then put in just an open vacuum line w/ no pill, the results: 13psi spike, then down to just under 10, fuel cutoff at around 7-7.5k RPM. I decided the right thing to do for now is to put the stock cat back on with the stock pill until I can get an ECU going this winter. *Sigh* I have to be real grown up and dull down my car in the best interest of the motor. It's soooooo early, I got less than 2 hrs of sleep. Wish me luck

your manual boost controller must be too small. do you mean its boost creeping to 13-15psi? what gear are you in when this happens? in anycase, i have seen a few fd's with dp/mp/catback and have only 7psi of boost on an open vaccum line to redline. perhpas you need a larger vaccum hose or something. have you tried just an open vac line?

yah boost spikes vs boost creep are two different things if it creeps then a boost controller won't help much.. however the spiking it might fix

I have been using a 6mm open vacuum line getting 13 psi boost spikes. Then it goes down to just under 10, but I still hit fuel cut near redline.
