Knock sensor comparison

What is the main difference between the jspec (13b-re) and the regular knock sensor (13b-rew) I had the jspec installed on my rew motor. It flickers the check engine light and I get code 5 even after I've reset the codes and the light doesn't come on. Is this to be expected?

Faulty sensor maybe?? Bad connection?? Maybe the J spec model doesnt comply with the REW?
