knock sensor code only when cold.

i've got a car here that has code 5 when you start it up, but goes away as soon as the engine warms up a bit... i triple checked all the wiring, etc, but i can't figure out what's causing it.

i think someone had a thread on this a while back, but i couldn't find it. anyone who's had this problem before, how'd you fix it?

thanks

have you done the eay swap of a know good one in? maybe the sensor has a small open in it that heats up and closes? just a guess. good candidate for a quick swap to see.

not yet, but that'll be the next thing on the to-do list.

it's wierd how it goes away as soon as it warms up. and it doesn't even have to fully warm up... ~1 minute of driving or idling.
