Kirk Racing roll bar and trunk cover???A

Are there any issues with the Kirk Racing 4pt roll bar interfering with the trunk cover? I need to keep my cover on so people can't see into my trunk space since I park in a parking garage.

Not my car, but that's it. You'd have to hack up your stock cover or make a new one.....

yea, that's xchaos's car. I read his whole thread, but there is no trunk cover on his car. Does the trunk cover extend over the scissor jack, tool bin areas that the kirk racing bar come out of? I just bought the cover off ebay, and am not sure if this is the case.

I don't know about the cover you bought, but my cover on my touring does cover those sides (and that's about where the strings come down to attach from the window).

I don't have the cover. Point me to an ebay link...maybe I'll buy one and check it out.

I just looked at one in the shop with the cover. You would have to modify it a little bit. The cover starts rite behind the strut bar covers and goes all the way back. The area where the tool kit is and where the jack is would need to be cut out. You could still have the strings connect the cover to the hatch. Just a little reshaping.

The M2 roll bar rear mounts bolt to the rear shock towers. That would work. I think Max Cooper has got one. Check his web sight.

I had to cut the portions of the rear cargo cover near the strut tower brace. Now the freaking thing squeaks b/c it's too flimsy.

If I had the buying power of Bill Gates and the patients of Gandhi then I would go w/ the M2, but unfortunately I'm a poor and impatient college student so that's out of the question. Modifying the cover shouldn't be too big of a deal.

xchaos....here's another cover on ebay, it ends in ten hours so might wanna check it out soon. I won the bid on mine for $89.12, pretty cheap I guess. Looks like this one will be around the same. If you want one, I'd bid on this cause they're hard to come by.

Basically, you'll have to cut the part outside the half-circle area.

heres a good pic off of m2's page that shows the cover laying down....doesn't look like it will be a big deal.

Yes, where the Kirk Roll bar goes back is on the outside of that half-circle raised section on the cover, as I said above. That's the part you'll have to cut and probably relocate the strings that attach to the windows.
