Key lock illumination question

I know the drivers door on all FD's has key lock illumination if you pull the handle. The passenger side of my 93 does not appear to have it though there is a clear insert on my 94 passenger door (though nothing happens if I pull the handle... could be burnt out though). Anyway, does anyone know if the 94's have this feature on the passenger side?

Thanks, Heath

From what I recall, no. Only the driver's side has the bulb.

If you want to double-check, unbolt the door handle and look for the light above the keyhole with the 2 wires going to it, that will take all of 1 minute to check.

I think it was cheaper for Mazda to use the same flaps on each one. Also, JDM cars would have the opposite door key illuminated, so they can make just one part and use it for both LHD and RHD cars.

Yep. That clear flap also serves as additional protection for the lock, you see. Keeps dirt and ice and crap out.
