I've been running with the tensioner turned backwards and a shorter belt for a few thousand miles with no problem.

There is a lip - I assume so it wouldn't stray and come off.

(what was shown in the pics)

It's not bolt in but you can make some spacers and will work good......

Yep, run backwards to there's a lip to keep the belt from jumping off.

It really doesn't make a difference if you run the tensioner backwards or the right way. The lip is still there and the sides from the main/AC pulleys will keep the belt in place. I would just leave it as it was....

I didn't realize that this thread was brought back form the dead. I did get the system to work right. I ended up removing it anyway because as time wenton the car become more of a drag car and less of a street car....
