Katayama Yoshimi Promotor
Katayama Yoshimi Promotor
Hey guys,
I have recently bought FD but it's missing any documents and history. I have found a couple of stickers on it. Can you please advise if there is any special about it? There is a Katayama Yoshimi Promotor sticker on a front bumper. Can I check somehow if it was produced by original tuner company Katayama engineering? If you might help with any details about the car, I will be much appreciated.

That's a first version C-West N1 front bumper. Nothing to do with Katayama Engineering. I can't place the rear bumper.
Putting tuner brands logos right there on the front bumper, often in gold, was a thing that some people did for a time. Some people just like slapping stickers on things. That's not to say that Katayama Engineering had nothing to do with the car, just that the logo isn't necessarily any indication that they did. Katayama (both "Promotor" before and "Racing" now) was just a garage like any other. There is nothing special about neither the garage nor their work in particular. It's quite likely they at least serviced the car as they did thousands of others.
If you really want to know if they were especially involved in your car for some reason, you can check the ECU. Katayama sold their own ECU solutions. It will have their branding on the ECU casing if the car is running one of their tunes.

Most of the stickers in the pic are upsidedown. Easier for us all it you rotate the picture.
The VIN number , 303101, would indicate it is a Version 3 car and the manufacturer plate indicates it is a Type RB, which was the base model.
Likely was manufactured mid-1995.
There were about 6400 Version 3 cars made across 1994~1995.
Pictures of the engine bay might reveal what modifications any particular tuner shop might have made.
One sticker refers to "kakimoto", likely in reference to the popular aftermarket cat-back.
The blue sticker seems to record oil changes and some other service and the mileage of the car when the service was done.
There also appears to be dates. The date 3/11 might refer to March/Heisei 11 (1999)
Mileage at the time of the oil change was quite high for a Japanese car, indicating the car was well enjoyed.
