Kakimoto N1 Dual catback

Hi guys!

Anyone got info's / experiences with the Kakimoto N1 Dual catback?
I've got the possibility to pick the apexi dual N1 or the kakimoto dual n1.

Searched both up, didn't find very nice things about the apexi.
For the kakimoto I've found near to nothing!

Any infos on fitment/quality/sound?
Pictures/Videos?

Here are 2 pics from the seller with the apexi and kakimoto next to each other

Can someone identify the exhaust on this pic? I'm 99% sure this is the kakimoto dual... If yes, I'm sold, I NEED THIS! (looks so much nicer than the apexi I think)

Kakimoto generally makes a good product. Looks like the fit is decent, really hard to call sound quality.

The N1 duals fit like *** and sound like ***, one of the worst if not the worst exhaust for the FD.

I doubt you'll find ANYONE with experience with that Kakimoto exhaust, it's EXTREMELY rare. But, in general, it looks like a good option, fit seems much better. Hard to see if it rubs the black plastic under the bumper, that may require trimming or something.

Hi Dale,

I will pick up the exhaust next saturday, so I will let you all know how it fits ,sounds, how much it weights and will make some pic's and some sound clips for future searchers.

i had rb duals and st may and they both robbed my of horsepower by being restrictive. That kakimoto looks nice. Wish i could find one. G

It's basically the same as the St. May's. If you didn't like the St. Mays, the Kakimoto dual isn't going to be any different:

I highly disagree. I love the way my N1 duals sound but I do have a main cat as well.

And i disagree with the fact that the St. May robs horsepower. I went from RB Duals to a greddy single and then the St. May and it is by far the best sounding and looking and i didnt lose any power at all.

I also can not believe that a st. mays, apexi or kakimoto dual will rob horsepower...
But I will take measurements and will let you know the diameter / flow area...

I can't wait to get this babys, I think this exhaust is one of the best looking ever made for the fd's, also, the build quality seems very good at the pictures (just look at those welds and compare it with the apexi...)

I don't want to have a big fart-can at my rear (exceptions made for some ARC titanium goodness), and the RB dual tip is just... sooo "normal"...

Everyone's arguement on the St. May has always been the fact that it goes from a 3" midpipe, to the 2.5" pipe into the cans, but guess what theres 2 of them. 2x2.5" is 5" of piping after the 3" MP. How do you figure it loses power there?

*beep*

2x2,5" is NOT the same as 1x5"... you have to calculate the area!

this is based on straight open pipe... obviously bends and mufflers cause restrictions, but you can clearly see that dual 2.5" pipe has the ability to flow more than single 3"

I can guarantee the rb duals took 14 horsepower from my old set up. It was switched at the dyno and tested. That was from an rb dual to an oldschool pettit racing single can. Post a pic of the st. mays if u got 1. I might have had a different dual because that one was similiar to the rb dual as well. It was one pipe to muffler can to dual tip like the rb. If the st. may is twin pipe back than I am in the wrong on that particular one. G

Also, how did you redo the exhaust? Are you running straight dual, or do you have a X-pipe in there somewhere?

St may only made one style of exhaust for multiple vehicle applications. that's the twin canister one called "shot gun". If you compare the canister to piping ratio of the St May and Kakimoto, looks like the kakimotos canister diameter is smaller than the St May's. I would guess it might be louder, somewhere between the N1 dual and St. May.

st may's hands down the best looking and sounding Jazma approved exhaust. just a bit on the heavy side
