Just wrecked my FD last night...

My rx7 is laying dead on the road . Oh well, was planning on selling it anyways. Was coming home alst night from chapel hill and hit hockey traffic, merged into a lane at like 10 mph and the guy in front of me got cut off and put his brakes on and I went under his truck. Didnt do any damage to the truck because it was lifted but his hitch fucked my front end up. Thank God my engine didnt get damaged, just the quarter panels and front facia and a little but of subframe ****. ****, I love that car. Anyways-with new body work and a nice new paint job rx7 go bye bye, hellooo skyline gtr .

Wow, you must be dealing drugs/doing some very sketchy stuff or got some rich parents cuz IDK how the hell your gonna get that much money, R34 from Motorex cost 80k just about.

BTW: What convinced you to get a Skyline? Was it the fact that your gonna be paying about 4-10 times the regular price of a car that is in Japan (and its a used car too)? Was it the fact that your gonna need a lot of money trying to get it to perform almost but not quite like a super car? Was it the fact that stock and aftermarket parts are very expensive, none to be found and your gonna probally have to higher some one to fly out from Japan to work on it every time you race it/break something on it? Was it the fact that you can never park it anywhere cuz its pretty much gaurenteed to be stolen or vandalized if left unattended for over 1/2 an hour? Was it the weight that attracted you to it or how about the 4WD option that tends to understeer?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Usually the 16-21-year-old-wrecked-another-rx7 theme only applies when they underestimate the power of the car and loose control or something similar.. I dont think this is the case. But it is sad that another one is wrecked.

It was technically my fault but it was unavoidable. Thank God I didnt crash when I was pacing it around raleigh like I like to occasionally. As for mods it was definatly up there. Anyways I want a skyline bad, they aregeorgous, the only reason I bought the rex is because I thought it would be too hard to get skyline. Anyways I am lookin at a 1991 r32 gtr vspec II for a bout 23K all said and done (shipping, legalization, blah blah blah). Yes I know how much it is supposed to cost to get one down (I think motorex charges like 20,000 to bring one in or something ridiculous like that) but I have found a way to get one in cheap, really really cheap. I just hope it all goes through. and skunks, chill out man, a skyline is my dream car and thats all that matters, and no my parents have not paid for any of my car, nor will they help me get the skyline from japan, I work my *** off for the money that I put into my car.-B

Sanfordman, you should investigate thet car a little further. From the information I have the R32 Vspec II wasnt released in Japan until February 1994. The Vspec wasnt even released until February 1993

Hey...you do realize that you'll have to bring the car up to DOT specs before you can legally drive it, right?

Motorex charges quite a bit, simply because they have to do that...

I could get a late model Silvia or Supra for about 9k plus 900 for shipping to the west coast...but that don't mean squat.

You DEFINETLY might want to look into a bit more....unless you already knew this?

Do you plan to bring it up to DOT specs? Otherwise, it'll just be a trailer'ed show car.

Stick to RX-7's Skylines are Over-Rated ! Trust me on this one, i have a skyline now... and i have seen rx7's beat skylines at the street races, actually i seen WRX kill skylines and rx7's night after night. I enjoy, and love my skyline, BUT, its not the Shizznit that americans think they are. Its just the name that people love i guess.

Yep Skylines are nothing more then big heavy beasts....they can make a huge about og horse power that doesn'tmean anything when you try and more 4000 pounds. Yeah I would like to have one but for the money I would wai and get a Lancer or just go out and buy a WRX. Oh yeah what about waiting fot the Turbo Mazda 6 to come out.

dude motorex doesnt charge anywhere near $20k just to get a car in, just go to the website, they have cars for sale at around 25k-30k last time i checked (~3 months ago) and they are already legal over here and everything... why not just use them?

speed demon, first-I have never met you, you have never met me, to call me gay is just showing what kind of an *** you are. First you are discriminating against me because of my want of a skyline. Secondly you are discriminating against homosexuals, I personally have no problem with them, sounds like you do though-maybe your keeping something hidden from yourself. But anyways-i know about skylines, I know they arent necassarily fast, but it doesnt matter does it-in the end its my choice to spend my money however I want, the fact that you have to be an ******* because you dont agree with me and feel that you must show how much you dont agree with me shows where your priorities lie. And by the way, my parents dont pay for any of my car, they did however have the financial backing to allow me to take a loan out under their name to buy the car (unto which I am still paying on monthly with the job that I attend on weekends while I am at school). So before you start mouthing off, how bout you firstly take a ******* chill pill-and secondly consider that you dont know everything about every situation (moron). I hope you feel stupid now....

"speedemon is just speaking his mind"

you can speak your mind and sill have a shred of respect. everyone know 90% of "FD guys" hate Skylines. Everytime someone utters the name you hear the same old cliches.....Personally I think they are beautiful cars. They are capable of making huge numbers, thats no doubt. But does that mean they are better than the FD ? ...well that depends on who you talk to. It is his money, let him do what he wants with it. Everyone has their opinion, but when people come on here and flame the **** out of people with rediculous and unfounded claims it really shows what children they are.

Why would someone "hate" a Skyline? Why would someone "hate" anything or anyone unless it/he/she had done or stood for something terrible? And I don't think a bulletproof 2.6 litre I-6 and AWD drivetrain qualify as "something terrible." It's just ridiculous to hate.

That said, I like the R32 the best because they're nice and simple. I like the GTS-Ts, and the GTRs are happy, too. The R32 was before they really started making the car drive itself.
