Just wanted to present myself and my RX-7
Hi to all.
I am just an new mamber to this forum and to the rotary engine family and as I usually do as I enter a new forum I like to present myself and in this case my car.
My name is Joseph and I live in Malta. (ok I know you do not know where Malta is so for now just know that it is a tiny spot in the middle of the Mediterranean
)
After a long search I have finally been able in May to make one of my greates dreams come through. I bought this.
It is a 1993 RX-7 directly imported from Japan to Malta for me. I bought it for a good price and as I specified I wanted her only with original parts as it came out from the factory. She was not easy to find like that and I had to accept some defect here and there but if I own such a car I want to be able to customize what I want on it and not stay with what others have done.
So at the moment I am in the long process of refurbishing her. There has been already signifacant progress. One thing that convinced me to buy her is that I have the luck of living just few km away from not one but 2 RX-7 rotary engine specilist one of them with even US certificates.
All RX-7 owners here come to repair at their end. The are both my good friends and I always follow their suggestions when doing somthing. They have already totally opened up and totally reserviced my RX-7 engine so now I have a 0km engine with the best upgraded parts which have just recently completed a successful running in.
It is all for now I hope to have a good stay here. If you want you can see more pic of my car at my website below. There are only photos for now but I intend to post any upgrades I do too. I will also post the links to my friend specilists websites as soon as they are up.

Malta, cool. How are the roads?
Very slick paint. Nice FD.

Where’s Malta?
The Maltese Archipelago lies virtually at the centre of the Mediterranean, with Malta 93kms south of Sicily and 288kms north of Africa.
Gibraltar is 1,826kms to the West and Tel Aviv is 1,940kms to the East.
Malta is the largest island in the archipelago. The longest distance on the island, from the south-east to the north-west is some 27kms; its widest point, east to west, is 14.5kms. Malta has neither rivers nor mountains, but is characterised by a series of low, flat-topped hills with terraced fields on their slopes. Malta’s coastline is well indented with harbours, bays, creeks, several sandy beaches and rocky coves.
Malta is the more urban and cosmopolitan of the islands. It has every amenity from modern residential and commercial areas to a vibrant nightlife and numerous leisure options. While the Grand Harbour area and a most of the central-eastern region are built up, the countryside to the North is rugged and sparsely populated. For more

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
My RX-7 had just come out from a fresh respray of some parts to remove paint chips here and there some month ago when I took those photos. She will be in for a second session to remove some small bumps here and there soon I hope. I can count a a very good sprayer which is a freind of mine for such great work.
DaiOni/Speedking: Yes those are old school Yokohama tyers and rims. 2 of them are a bit scratched so they will be in for smoothing and color changing soon, as soon as my new bridgestone potenza evolution will be in my hands this week or the next.
Managed to grab my hands on a set from only 20 that came here in Malta.
I am also quit satisfied with the sound of the trust sp exhaust. Not too too loud but everyone notices when I am coming.
The roads here in Malta and not for extreme speed lovers. Not that long stright roads here. There is only one place where you can do so here and many are to rough for an RX-7 kind of suspensions. On the other hand they are the maximum for those like me who love turns, relevant gear changing and accelaration when you do not find that much traffic.

Thanks again very much for the warm welcome and the compliments. My car never leaves the garage or enters it if it is not totally clean and in my opinion it really deserves it.
For sure I would wish to have more especially longer roads but my greatest pleasure are all the different turns you can find.
There are some 14 RX 7 alone just in my area. I personally know a pilot who has totally disassembled his RX-7 and is now in the process of totally rebuilding it with the help of my colsest 2 rotary specilist on the island were all RX7s here come for tune up and fixings. These 2 even managed to mount a rotary on an old escort for racing.

Luckily I had the new original bumper with the bracket at a very very low price for that.Personally I hate that bracket but since we are forced to show the front plat by law there could be no better solution.
