Just need alittle direction and advice.
Well iam buying an FD, i finally found one. So i drive out to check it out, the paint is like wutever condition. The interior is in amazing condition with 98 spec seats. boost controler (not hooked up), boost guage, turb timer....and just looks great inside all around. The engine was rebuilt 20k miles ago and it cost the guy 6000 for the build, changed out like everything. Just did the clutch a year ago, has a fatty intercooler and a radiator on the car. Now the guy is asking 14 and after an hour of just hanging out i gave him my offer of 12 and he thought about it....and then said he would do it.
So i ask for a ride, he turns it on...it turns on fine and holds idle with no smoke at all coming out the back. I checked the engine before to see if he prewarmed it up but he didnt it was pretty cold. He takes me for a ride....doesnt redline the car. Takes it up to about 5k or so and shifts...everything sounds good, i hear the turbos and the stock bov. Everything so far so good...i get to drive it and i like it, only thing i realize is the tranny was not as smooth as i thought it would be but i dont know how it should feel so...but there was no grinds in any gear.
So i then ask him if the turbs where rebuilt, he says no they werent...and i ask for how many miles and he says 50k. Now i tell him i wanna take it back to the guy who buily the car to look it over.
Finally i got a few questions for you guys.
1: Is 50 k on turbs to many? em i going to have to rebuild them soon?
2: how much to rebuild the turbos?
3:what should i look for when i take the car in for the guy to inspect?
4: is there any signs that would have shown the turbos where not working properly?? it seemed very smooth accelerating...
5: and is the tranny suppose to be like butter? i figured if there is no grinds then its ok right?
Oh and i stalled the car 3 times cause i was driving it with flip flops and he had a 6puck on there....and it started right back up fine. Thanks alot guys and here is the link to the car.

3 and the hit for $100?

If there is an aftermarket shifter on the car it might cause the shifts to be a little more direct, some say "notchy". but its a good feeling when you go to nail a gear and it goes in nice and hard. It sounds like a decent deal to me, the car sounds well taken care of. 50k on the turbos shouldnt be too much of a problem if they were at a moderate boost level all their life. Mine lasted about 90k miles. But the last 5k i boosted them to 15psi, they didnt like that too much

no hey says he never had it tuned, he was just kinda buying all the parts he needed for his set up down the line...kind of slowly doing things. The reason he is selling it is cause his wife murders him everytime he buys a new part . He never tuned it or uped the boost on the motor. Iam just glad its there cause now i can get it tuned!! He said he drove it at night to work a few times a week casue he works 16 hour days. The guys seems to really baby the car alot.
