Light kit day pic
Just installed HID lights on the pop up stock lenses.
I don't like the beam pattern so I will purchase a 4 projector flush type from the thread pics.
Question? Can you go back to pop up later when you install the flush light kit.
Also how much cutting is involved. Does it weaken the front structure?
Is the fitment perfect?

Still waiting for good daylight pictures of the kit on a car that isn't black...
I heard a rumor that the Lexan covers had to be bent/formed to the contour of the pod and were not pre-formed. Is this true?

True. Flat, thin, somewhat flexible. I was thinking polycarbonate (they are at home though...so I can't look to see now).

Here's a picture of what you'll have to cut out...
In the picture below, just to the right of the light, you'll see the three holes you have to drill to mount one of the brackets that holds the pod in place.
Another bracket is on the opposite side, which is hard to get to and requires removing the wheel well liner to access. A third bracket attaches to the first 10mm bolt on the front of the fender rail.
Is the fitment perfect?

Do you have day pics of install?
I've seen these pics before on Extrems web site.
I would like to see another to see consistent installes for varying people.
Do you have to remove front bumper cover. I hate to take mine out. I just installed the 99spec front cover. I just hate to take it apart again if I go the same route.
Is there anyone out there that makes a direct bolt on no cutting kit?

The RE kit does not have the fender wheel mount because he said it was a pain to deal with. He has no problems with not having this mount. I never had any problems getting to the RE Amemiya mount though ....
I'm waiting to get my shells back from the painter. I'll take a pic of the metal I cut out. Chuck will even tell you he did a hack job cutting the metal out. Mine is a little neater. Chuck also had to cut more material out to fit the HID as shown above. The Rotaryextreme kit is just as good or better than the RE Amemiya kit. It has better lighting and a cheaper price.
One last comment on the Lexan covers. The RE Amemiya kit had real thick Lexan which was hard to work with. I found out much later on that you can heat Lexan in an oven to make it easier to install. However Chuck uses thinner Lexan that is easier to bend and I see it molding easily. I don't expect the thinner Lexan to crack either.
