just installed the eBay short shifter

Yeah I bought the short shifter from ebay $102 shipped.
It looks to be pretty nice. I installed it this afternoon, and It seems to work well, although it is rather loud. I dont know for sure where the noise is coming from, but i suspect that it has something to do with the shaft diamater being smaller than factory, thus the rubber boot not sealing well. It is really loud when the car is pulling hard(over 8psi. of boost) but It does the job, the shifts are a lot closer!

Ebay short shifter

Did you get the one made by APEX (or clamed to be) ???? When you say noise do you mean road noise, engine noise, or rattleing ? ? ? ? I just bought one and I am hoping it's what I want....I was going to get the B & M short shifter, but this one had a 5 year uncoditional garuntee. Let me know. Jack

umm...last time i checked, eBay was an internet auction site where people buy and sell things. they dont make aftermarket parts for cars. you might have mistaken. it could be a Yahoo! or Google short throw shifter, but not eBay.

If the shifter is making excessive noise , take the shifter *** off and see if it still makes the noise or not. I bought a shifter once and it was loud as hell, i took the shifter *** off and it didnt make any noise, so i just got a stock shifter *** wrapped in leather, and it cured the noise

Any news on the Apex Short Shifter?

I am thinking about purchasing one of these and was wondering how they seem to be performing and if the noise is subsiding.

Thanks!
