just installed boost gauge, only 5 lbs, now what?

Just purchased my FD about four weeks ago and finally got my boost gauge in the mail today. Followed "Lightning in a world of thunder" website as to how to connect everything, and seemed to be working fine on startup. But when I took it for a drive, my boost pattern was only 5-2-5. Could I have installed it incorrectly, or what might be the problem. Any ideas.
By the way, it is a '93 with 56,000 miles on it. Runs fine, and until I installed the boost gauge I had no idea that something might be wrong.

sounds exactly like a vacuum line somewhere is loose. dont be too worried, its just going to be a beast to find the line, but you will notice it if you see it. get a flashlight, and take your best look..you might have to take some minor stuff off to see better like the air pump, alternator and intercooler pipes. you will probably notice a stiff rubber line not connected to anything, now just find its connect spot. good luck.
my experience was a full 11.5-12 lbs boost very briefly then nothing over 6 lbs with both turbos kickin. i found the hose filter that just came loose off of the black box above and behind the alternator w/ 2 lines going in. easy fix in my case. again, good luck, let us know.

Was the engine rebuilt?

If so, they would set the boost to 5lbs for the break in period.

By any chance was the car completely warmed up before you checked your boost readings ? ? ? Sounds to me like you may have been boosting on a cold engine, surprised you got any thing on the secondary as you need 7 psi. for the second turbo to come on line.

As far as I know, it is original engine. I've only had it for about four weeks so I don't know what 10 lbs of boost should be like. Do you think I might just have a leak in one of my connections running to the gauge? Engine wasn't cold when running, I usually do atleast 5 to ten minutes of easy driving before I boost hard. Just took it out again and the boost pattern was only 5-2-4. If I'm just cruising in fourth and I get up on it, it will jump to almost six, then decline down to four. My downpipe comes in tomorrow so I will be installing it this weekend, any other ideas on what I should do, look for when I'm working on it this weekend. Thanks in advance.

Im gonna guess and say you still have stock rubber hoses under the hood. Save yourself the headache of looking for loose vacuum lines on one of the 60+ vacum lines and just perform the one time big headache of vacuum line replacement with silicone hoses.
