the first things i covered on my car were, in order:
1. oils....(engine,tranny,rear end)
2. cooling system..(flush and leak check)
3. fuel filter change
4. boost gauge
5. down pipe (get rid of that turbo cooker)
6. air filter

the rest is up to you...but i feel those are the most important right off the bat....good luck...

I would get a ne down pipe, new spark plugs and a Apexi PowerFC.

Get the car tuned to run better as is before moving on and do it with a computer that allows fine adjustments.

A good computer and tuning can make a stock car run better for longer within a safer margin.

just my 2cents

btw, you can just get the powerFC computer for now and skip on the commander.

I don't know why people constantly tell others to replace the radiator and do the vacuum hose job. There is no reason to do either unless there's a problem.

I just replaced my stock radiator this spring with almost 70k on it. I only replaced it then because the end tanks were starting to look a little bit worn and because I was installing an intake and SMIC anyway.

I also still have my original vacuum lines with 75k on them. There's no reason to replace them unless you are actually having a problem.

aZnNaMedXtC:

I suggest you perform the 60k mile service, install a downpipe and aluminum AST, get boost and water gauges, and then leave the car alone for a while. The car is very fun to drive near stock and you can learn how to drive the car. While you are learning how to drive the car, you can do research so you can choose how to best spend your money instead of listening to others.

Congratulations on your new car. Take care of it.

First, spend some money on spelling lessons. If you have any money left over, here is what I suggest:

AST
Downpipe
Boost gauge
Water temp gauge

Then:
Cheap Bastard intake mod
catback
Boost controller

Save it for your new engine. At the very least change the plastic AST and your thermostat.

Why have a Boost gauge and a boost controller?

Boost gauge tells you what your boost is. Boost controller allows you to set the boost where you want it, since you now know your boost levels.

A beater to drive when the FD breaks

What's the history of the car? The first thing right off the bat is change all the fluids and filters. All of them.

If the tires and shocks are fine, keep them. After that downpipe and aluminum AST. No need to do anything else unless money is burning a hole in your pocket.

Be certain you have the car fully sorted and in top shape before you start modding it. No sense on spending money to "improve" things when there are other things (suspension bushings, sway bar mounts, paint, etc) that need taking care of.
