just got my fd!!

well actully about a month ago but after a very long time of none stop searching i finally found the one!! its sliver on black extremely clean interior besides wear on driver of course but the rest looks close to new. the body is clean no dents besides a lil nick on the passenger fender and a few rock chips from freeway. it has 127k(oringinal motor) one owner always garaged for $7300. he had all maintence records dating back to when he first bought the car in 92. to bad its a touring model but who am i to complain. as soon as i layed eyes on her i nearly nutted in my pants.haha

he said he thinks it has leaky coolant and sadly after searching the forums all the symtoms point to yes. white smoke at start up, coolant light buzzing for about a minute every so often, my coolant reservoir level stick looked like it had oil on it, bubbling noise behind the dash. so i clean the stick and burp the coolant system.

i dont mean to dissapoint the rotary gods but the motor is going to be replaced with an ls1. ill take a lot of pics and keep everyone updated as soon as i start.

the first thing i bought was the rear 99 lights.

Sweet another memeber of the RX7 Support group. Check the forum for the typical relability mods you should address first.

Best of luck , thats a nice FD !

How did I miss the LS1 comment, I take all the above back.
Go 20b, putting a LS1 is a waste of a good FD

You're not gonna get much support here with the LS1 swap. If you want a loud *** V8, buy a Camaro. But if you wanna a truely amazing FD- it only takes 3 rotors

as much as i love the rotary engine the life aspect isnt there. with the ls1 simple mods go along way without having to worry about ca emissions. believe me when i say i do the love the rotary.
i was on this forum way back in 2000 but when the site updated my name was gone.
i owned 2 fc na and 1 TII before but my cars got towed or wrecked(very bad year).

Very clean Fd, when you do the swap you will not be dissapointed. I loved the car with the rotary and love it whith the LS1. I bought my FD because of the body not the engine I am not bashing the rotary but there is a point when you just want to drive your car and not worry about... Is today the day my engine pops.

Why not Get a C5 vett insted, those are nice cars. Then you don't have to use the 7 for a DD. But good luck with the swap anyways.

LS1 in a Japanese car is just stupid, you're stupid and driving it will show how stupid you are. If you wanted an LS1 then buy a Vette! Don't f*ck up the FDs out there, there aren't many and I don't own one yet I may never get one due to ricers and people who like mahjor conversinos. A 20b is fine though, stay with the roots of the car.

Back in the 70's they did it wasn't impressive.

I'm with you on the swap, and it will be cheaper than going the 20b route plus it's easier at the pump. Also if you want despite what someone said you can make it quite as a mouse and still put down 350+ rwhp.
