yeah thats what i keep hearing, either way this kit is a great improvement over stock, the fds low weight and already beefy front calipers are pretty spot on imo. I dont see any reason not to track a car with these brakes, people track the stock setup all the time am i right?

i was under the impression that the cross drill rotors that have been machined to smooth in the drill would make them less prone to cracking then regular drilled rotors.

example is seen in this photo...my drills werent exactly machined like these. Mine were flush with the stopping surface like most of them are. Can anyone vouch that this type of cross drilled rotor is less prone to cracking?

type A vs type B

While I can't speak from direct experience, I have spoken to many more experienced track guys, and any disk that is drilled, no matter how well or who makes it, will crack under extreme track usage, or long term street usage. The drilling compromises the integrity (sp) of the steel, and makes it prone to crack under high heat.

Again, drilled rotors are fine for the street, and even the occastional track event but if you plan to frequently track the car (and don't want to replace rotors as frequently) you will be fine with drilled rotors.

...my .02 is that my ebay drilled rotors in the front cracked from about 1yr street usage.

yeah i was always askin' around about x-drilled, never heard one good thing about 'm other than "they're like crack, good for a quick fix, but after that everything sux" - like many before me have said... i'd go with just straight slotted. Tournapart suggested to me buybrakes.com for just slotted rotors - check it out, just as cheap, worked great for me so far

yes pretty much all the cross drilled rotors i have bought in the past have cracked... i would suggest not getting slotted ones they really eat up pads. the only reason to get them is to keep the pads from glazing over! i say just learn how to pulse the breaks and not burn them up. i think cross drilled and slotted look ricer im all cross drilled!

I agree with Kevin...I would never go cheap on brakes. Never. If/when I upgrade mine for track use, Im going to go with some brakes with alot of time and money spent on development because of the safety issues involved. Beyond that, Id wager alot that those are not real drilled brembos. Ive heard of quite a few companies buying basic brembo rotors, and drilling them themselves. Not the same quality as the real thing.
