Just Got Back from Road Atlanta
Hi guys,
I just gor from Road Atlanta for a lapping day. I had done the non-seq mod and upgraded to a M2 med intercooler the previous weekend. Initially, I was getting very high boost below 6000 rpm and then leveling off over six k. I then switched the pre-control and wastegate solenoid connectors and the boost curve is perfect, flat at 10-11 with some creep to 12 at near redline. The car performed perfectly. Not sure about the driver though...

I get butterflies just thinking about it. That turn is really hard to master. Even at the end of a two day track session I was still not hitting it well. Great track though.

I did a driving school at Rd. Atlanta two years ago and let me tell you turn 12 is NOT for the faint of heart.
The best advice I got was to aim for the pine tree.... then start turning right. I was like... oh ****... you've got to be kidding me.
That's the turn that Peter Farrell had a very nasty accident in one of the 7s.
The 7 was smoking a C5 that was out there with me... but my temp needle kept getting dangerously high so I had to back off it a bit after the first few laps. I was a little short on coolant I later found out.
A very cool track and a well put on school by the BMW club.

This event was put on my the bmw club. They are having another one in late september I think 20-22. There were two other 3rd gens at the event. One was a single turbo. I think the most interesting site of the day was the guys in a yellow 94 Diablo VT who no one keep up with.

Cool... the BMW guys are great. From what I hear the Porsche guys are a little more liberal with their passing, etc. I hope to go to one of their event with the Supra.
My accountant is an instructor with the BMW guys... and I'm pretty sure he'll be at MADS. Keep an eye out for a black '02 Cobra that just passed you!
