Just got back from getting an alignment
I just got back from getting an alignment. There was a problem adjusting the caster on the right, they couldn't adjust it due to the "eccentrics" being frozen.
Anyway, the numbers I am at now are:
Camber .24 -.26
Caster 6.67 7.32
Toe .07 .03
Previously I was pulling to the left just a little bit, but it got really bad after getting 2 new tires put on 2 days ago. I checked the tire pressure and the asses had the new rear tires at 44psi. I dropped that down to 30 psi and it felt better, not floating around as much and not pulling as severe, but still had a little pull to the left and since I've never had an alignment in the almost 8 years I've had this car, it was due anyway.
Now, after the alignment, the steering wheel definitely is straight (before it was a little off) and she doesn't seem to pull to the left any more, although I only drove from the shop to home and it's raining, so I didn't do any WOT runs to see if it pulls then.
By the way, the new Falken FK451's on the rear stick pretty damn well, even on the rain soaked roads today! A significant improvement over the old Bridgestone Potenza re940's. So far I am very impressed with the Falken's.

my FD is 11years old, never had an alignment problem.
Car drifting one way or another, is normal, caused by
groves and patterns on the road way..
BTW, Falkens?? I used to have them on my Fiat X19
long ago.. Aren't those tires like a PEP BOYS
advanced auto SPECIal tires.. I always considered
Falkens Generic, discount performance wannabe tires..
Wondering if they are any good these days...

I never had an aligment problem either until a few years ago I drove up to NY to visit a friend. After a lovely drive on the pothole ridden BQE, I had a rear main seal leak and the alignment got f'd up a little. It was only a very slight pull to the left since then, wasn't very bad, but was annoying me enough that I finally addressed the issue.
As far as the Falkens I put on, I guess it was a little bit of a gamble, but they were attractively priced and I found some info online that gave them pretty good reviews and a couple C5 guys were using the FK451's so I'm giving them a try!

Falken Azenis are like gumballs. Super grippy, super short tire life, and incredibly loud. I road in a buddy's car that had them and I thought he had a bad wheel bearing.

I have lots of previous experience with Falkens. I had the 451's on my last car and I liked them a lot. Great tread-wear and reasonable grip. Plus they aren't very expensive. They are definately not Pep Boy specials.
