If you are looking for cheap ways to paint the car, try this:

http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/...0&fpart=1&vc=1

It is much better than flat-black.

I plan on taking my time collecting used parts and waiting for good deals, no need to rush this project. I like doing things once correctly. And yes it does basically look like a nightmare, but im pretty sure I can figure it all out, but the help of a local guy would be great. I think all the drive train parts are there. The deal was the dumb kid paid some local rx7 place to replace the motor they got half way done with it and realized it was way to much money.

Baja this is my last car, think it looks like crap?
Ahhhh! MUCH better! No crap there.

Yeah, looks like you have a good head on your shoulders. I hope the taste you had in modifiying the gsx carries over to the FD.

Had LS1 dreams.

Good luck.

Flat Black is porous though, so you may experience rust problems later on. The better way to do it is to spray on a basecoat plus a matte or duller clear coat

Fooka me. If you can really put everything back on and make it run like a proper "daily" (i.e. working a/c,p/s,smog, air pump, proper wirings, etc etc) my two thumbs up and a pint for ya mate.
Looks like you got a big job ahead of you.

If I were in your position, I can't be F* with putting those all together. Better off make it a race warrior or maybe an ls1 (again, just a thought don't flame me ) coz basically I'm those feint hearted person :lol.

Good luck mate. Keep us updated with all the work.

As for paint, each to their own really. Although I must admit flat black definately not the go for me.

Why is it all the FD's that are getting raped in the *** are the Montego Blue FD's?

When I bought mine it was a POS. It has taken me close to $4,000 to bring it back up to at least a road worthy car. Exterior has a LONG way to go. Interior is pretty much close to being done.

>>> All I really need is a new guage cluster then I will be set. HINT HINT <<<

But damn those people with no clue of the cars. They all seem to own Montego Blue FD's. They are like the redheaded step child of FD's it seems.

Im not sure why you are, but it does not have a salvage title and has been sitting since 2003. I'm not sure where you pulled all that nonsense from.
