Talking just finished vac hose job, now boost spiking fixed?

i recently finished my vac hose job ( replaced all check valves and 3 solenoids 2 broken 1 malfunctioning one ) about week and half ago....car is sooo smooth but whats strange is i dont get anymore boost spiking to 14-15psi? i used to spike if at WOT and my boost was erradic and felt stumbley my mods are bonez high flo mid pipe, and bonez downpipe with new air filter stock replacement. my boost is now a perfect for me 11-9-11 at WOT i used to get something like 5-5-15! ouch!!! i am puzzled because i though vac hose job was going to give me more boost that i was loosing through leaks? AND ALSO THE Y-PIPE WAS GOING TO INCREASE BOOST? how is this so......good news is the ecu

it was fun experience working on the vac lines i think everyone who ones a FD should do it i learned alot about how the turbo works and the car itself......

So your boost pattern was 5 below 4500rpm, 5 after 4500 rpm then it creeps up to 15psi? During the vac job you must have fixed the problem, it sounded like it could've been the turbo precontrol from your boost pattern. 11-9-11 is perfectly fine, are you sure your boost gauge isn't off and it's really boosting at 10-8-10? Don't worry when you open up your stock catback you'll get that spike a more. Good job!

.

i was amazed!!! i took it for a drive after i finished and was flooring it and once it hit about past 4500 i usually let off gas because of spike but the car didnt spike when i was at WOT! i was happy finally get to whoop *** and be safe! so now i am looking at getting a ecu then finishing all the bolt ons i have done all reliability mods except for the biggist one ecu..but now with the boost running the way it is it can wait i am safe at those levels i am at currently..........

i will concentrate on getting new suspension right now ( and also ride of these heavy *** 17inch ADR rims )it is begining to show aging signs how much for a good set of springs shocks?

i am pretty sure with the mods i have the boost is right my gauge is brand new

I did gain alot of experience from my vac. hose job, but face alot of problems. I broke one of my solenoid valve's nipple, and I also mash out one of the screw on the back of the firewall so can't take the racks out....

Glad to hear you are finally done with it and happy. Are you sure that extra 1psi didn't come from the ypipe?
