just did the "hose job"
A few of the stock hoses were in good condition so I just left them, plus they were kinda hard to get to. Anyways I did most of them and only broke one solenoid (turbo control actuator) but RP told me I could use any solenoid in its place, so I wired up one from my friends TII since he went Haltech.
Now the car won't start! j/k It was a "fun" experience.

It's replacing all the stock vacuum hoses with silicone hoses. Over time the stock rubber vacuum hoses get real hard from the engine heat, you can literally break them in half, therefore they are hard and don't make a good seal and can slip right off.
This site has some great info

Not for nutin, but you REALLY should have gone after those few remaining hoses. When one of them fall off or crack, you are gonna kick yourself cuz you are going to have to remove the entire rack again.

It wasn't a half assed job even though it sounds like it. All but 3 hoses weren't hard at all. The ones I didn't do were NOT bad, hard, or old. I replaced 99% of them for looks and fun. The motor and turbos were put in about 2 years and 15k miles ago and looks like they did the hoses then because they still have most of thier life left. They also replaced ANYTHING that even looked like it was going bad.

Blow up or win
ARRRGGH! You really SHOULD have replaced them all to get a baseline.
Knowing that ALL your hoses are new, solenoids tested, and check valves tested or replaced goes a LONG way toward diagnosing future problems like ...... won't START! This is a job I never want to do again and mine turned out just fine - but it took me a freakin' week!
Seriously dood, you are the MAN for even trying it! Good for you!
My best advice to get it to start? Put in a new set of plugs.

I just got my kit from hosetechniques.com for $126.31 with shipping. I figured it would be good to get that done as well when my new engine gets put in.
