Unhappy just crashed my FD!!

I just crashed the front end of my FD. A little bit of the front frame got bent who should I take it to get that fixed? Also how much is it going to cost me to get a front bumper and Q/Panel painted? anyone have a extra right front Q/panel laying around they want to sell? I am so pissed this person stopped at a green light to make a u turn in the wrong lane and I hit the person behind them. The person who caused the accident took off. I wasnt speeding or anything is this my fault? I dont know what I should do!

Another one bites the dust...

If you hit someone from behind, you're at fault. I don't mean to add salt to the wound.... but you'd have to be going pretty fast or not paying attention to get in that kind of accident. Was it a multi lane road? If so you should have been able to get out of it...FDs ahve excellent braking capabilities...

on a lighter note, someone on the forum is selling a red front bumper for 150... fenders are 250 from the dealer. As for the frame damage...go to several body shops for estimates. Take some pics, and more people might be able to help you

Not all rear end collisions are the fault of the person in back, but in this case you would probably be held at least partially at fault. If the guy in front of you could stop in time, you should have been able to as well. Now, if someone swerves in front of you and then slams on their brakes, or someone backs into you, in both of those cases you would be totally free of liability. As for fixing it, when you say the "frame" do you really mean the frame or just the bumper/bumper support? If the frame is undamaged the repair cost shouldn't be too much, definitely get it fixed. If there is frame damage, it may not be repairable, you'll have to take it to a bodyshop and have them check it out.

Maybe, but unless you have many witnesses or skidmarks, it's would be hard to prove that a person pulled in front of you and slammed on the brakes.

However, if cars are moving forward and a rear end collision happens... no matter what, the person in the rear is at fault since they should have been travelling at a safe distance from the car in front of them to allow for stopping.
