just bought a vis ks hood

didn't come with any rain gutters so that's already annoying. but here's the kicker, i had to dremel about a 6 inch rectangle around the latch, which is just laid in the fiberglass underlay, no metal bracket or anything, does anyone have any experience with this particular hood or did i just get screwed. i already plan on sending the company a scathing letter regarding the latch problem, which i don't think is very safe, but need a hood. appreciate all the input guys

all hoods are not the same.... some people have a big problem where it won't even fit or some will get lucky and it fits like stock... my mazda speed hood had to be shaved here and there too when I got it... as long as it works your in good hands.

He said VIS. So regardless of the vendor, VIS made it. A friend of mine w/ a 96 got the same hood and it had the same problem...seems like a lot of the old batch.

But don't get a bad taste about VIS. My SCOOT hood from them is PERFECT!! The latch came so strong, that hood pins weren't really required. CF is wrapped around the edges, high gloss w/ no bubbles or yellowing. It is one of my few purchases that didn't involve buyer's remorse!

I think it does matter who the vendor is. There are a lot of knock-off hoods, and I wouldn't be surprised if some vendors even got 1-off or not-so-perfect merchandise for dirt cheap, and sold it as is.

VERY RARELY have I ever seen someone complain about a VIS part that was purchased directly from VIS. I think that says something.

PS: This belongs in the interior/exterior/audio section...
