just bought a 93 tt 7, 11 hrs ago.. need parts help...
aight so i sacrified my integra where i put a @$@ load of money into www.geocities.com/infdanny but now picked up a 93 rx7 with 53k miles. starting off bone stock (again) so need advice...seeing as how this is a different world. first plan of attack was going to be apex intake - do i need 1 or 2? then a tanabe racing medallion exhaust, apex bov, and 5zigen super silver probably 18".. for street driving and about 20k miles per year what size tires/rims have people put on the 7's? the stock ones are on there now and i think i almost killed myself coming onto a hwy when i d/s to 2nd and guned the turn... slid out but caught myself.. is traction supposed to be that bad on 7's (power)...anyone have advice? maintenance? tips... thanks for listening...

start with a downpipe to take heat out of the engine bay and "unchoke" the exhaust system. install a boost gauge to monitor your boost levels. check your compression and boost to make sure everything is healthy. replace your ast with an aluminum one. think about taking the time to replace your vacuum lines with silicone ones. you also might want a turbo timer. upgrade your radiator. if you are thinking about also adding an intake and a catback exhaust, you need to upgrade your ecu, because the stock one cant handle setting up the air/fuel mixture for all that crap unless you have it ramapped, and that's only if you arent going to add anything else. This should keep you busy for a while. Also, do us a favor, take care of it, dont use anything but premium gas, change the oil every 2000-2500 miles. also, if you spend a good amount of time reading on the forum, you wont have to ask questions but nce in a blue moon because its already all here.

Boost on turns = Fishtale
The Rx7 has superb handling but you must be carefull on turns. When your making a turn and hit the gas....the turbo will come to life in a f*&^ing hurry...so watch out for that. When you get used to the power, don't worry you'll start loving those turns.

When taking a corner...dont d/s in an FD unless you are experienced. These are amazing RWD sports cars and have quite abit of power pushing them around. You will for sure slide out if u are in a turn and the turbos come online...unless u have had some serious practice with it, i would suggest you take it to an open area and work on some power drifts. The forum is a NEVER ENDING source of information. You can find anything from a how to on road racing, to a complete engine rebuild. Be careful and do things the right way! Don't cut corners because you will be cutting a whole out of your wallet in the long run. If you have a ? try using the search button on the top right hand side of your screen. If nothing comes up, just post it in the corresponding section. Have fun with the new love of your life!

Gee, you almost lost it the first day you have the car and the first question you ask is how to add MORE power? The FD is not an understeering FWD honda. You need to spend some time learning about the car and how to drive a powerful RWD car. There aren't that many FDs left, please don't trash yours.
BTW, 18 inch wheels are not the key to good handling. I state again, learn how to drive the car stock first.
