but shell be back for more next wednesday.... Blew an apex, didnt hear anything funny but started dumping smoke and what not. HArd toi start. Lumpy idle. BAd Vaccuum. SOOO I had it dragged to Fast Import Cars and theyre droppin a 30k mile motor till i can come up with the greens to port a motor. Now Ill finally have a car running right at least.

it could always be worse

make sure you know what caused it and what not to do cause it will happen with the next motor too if not.

Depending on how much that 30k mile motor costs I would just get it done the right way right now.

I always use to say yeah I can't afford that and do it the cheap way and then it ended up messing up and what do ya know the second time I could afford the real thing so the first time I could have definetaly afforded it.

Point is....do it right, do it the first time and do it once.

done for. i checked the map sensor first. compression test backed up my thoughts of it being blown.

 

how many miles on original engine?
Were you on boost?

From what I was told, there was about 40k on the motor when iu bouight it. I put about 6K on it at the most and Ive had the car for almost a year. I also came to find out that a friend of mine knew the previous owner and he was spraying the motor and managed an 11.7 in the 1/4 mile which is great and everything, but not if you want a motor thats gonna last. So Im going with a used motor with 30k on it froma wrecked 97.
