Jumping speedo vss signal

Hey guys, is there a way to bypass the harness and send the vss signal directly to the Speedo?

Bypass what harness? I think the speedometer sensor pretty much goes straight to the speedometer on the dash.

Jumping or flaky instrument clusters are 99% of the time the cluster itself that is failing. There are a few guys that can do repairs on them now.

The previous owner had a haltech dash in the car, the whole instrument panel harness is gone. I have the stock gauges, I’ve already wired the stock tach to the coil, now I’m trying to find a way I can send the vss signal to the stock speedo

Just follow the wiring diagram in the shop manual. I do think that signal just goes straight to the speedo from the transmission.

I agree, I was just hoping I’d someone could tell me there is a connection on the back of the Speedo I can wire into, like the tach does

Might explain the connectors to nowhere the other week!

3C and 3A are the speed sensor connection at C-01, get there by X-16 on the emissions and X-17 on the instrument harnesses.

I might keep checking for something along these lines if nobody is bringing in wrecking cars....still stuff out there in Japan for 30 year old cars, although being auto and a silly price this is not much good for you even if you've got a V 1 - https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp...on/g1054779767 We threw out complete jap version 1 and 3 harnesses recently so can't check, but yellow/red and yellow/white are the colours for Au version 3 for those terminals.

I think you're asking if there are some handy screws that hold the gauges in that you can use to make a connection? Alas, not for the speedo, you're pretty much stuck with finding a used set of connectors and splicing them in.
