Is jetcoating turbo rebuilds necessary

Just curious - I know some do it - is it more for looks or will it help protect them from heat?

If by turbos, you mean the exhaust manifold and exhaust side housings, then I would say definitely.. I am a firm believer in this stuff, its space shuttle technology, and its relatively inexpensive. Now, like everyone else, I don’t have a pyrometer with before and after readings, but hey, you can touch my hood without burning you hand.

I don't think it is necessary but it probably does help Have you decided just to rebuild yours or are you upgrading?
