Jeez.. i bought a new suspension and all the extra $$$...

So I have had my suspension sitting in my house for over a month and finally had a chance to find a place to install it since I no longer have access to a lift...
Anyway, I dropped my car off this mornign and I todl the mechanic to use his discretion if something needs to be replaced. He calls me 2 hours later to come see what he found. It turns out I need about $500 in extra stuff including new insulators for the shocks, new bump stops, new rubber sleeves etc... Basicallyall the mounting hardware was mangled and needed to be replaced, furthermore my brake pads were kind of low and my rotors didnt pay to esurface again, so i picked up power slot rotors and Hawk pads as well today, this entire thing is going to wind up costing me about $2800... I guess this is what i get for letting things accumulate for 10 years.. I hope it all turns out to be worth it (HR Springs, Tokico Shocks, Drag launch kit)

i am not cmplaining but sorry i just wanted to vent somewhere...I know it is a money pit but it gets so out of control so fast...

pricing seems a bit much.

the bump stops are $20 each. the shock tower bushings with the rubber sleeves are about $60-80 each.

the supension is so easy to install on this car. i did it one evening after work using nothing but hand tools in my drive way.

It is pretty easy. An impact wrench helps and so does this:

I agree... I did it in an evening as well. Regarding pricing give Ray a call at Malloy Mazda. Best prices around!

Just as alberto said, the pricing seems a bit much. The bump stops have the dust cover built in. Its all one piece. They're about 56 bucks for one, so multiply that by 4 and there ya go.

It really isn't hard at all. It took me about 4 hours to finish it. But that was with air tools too.
