Motors cranking over pretty slow which will affect readings. You also need to hold the throttle down if your not.

i just hooked up jumper cables to the starter. i thought that would give me the same results. i was told you on't want the car to start all the way so you disconnect the gas lines. i don't have the gas lines or the throttle cable hooked up .

You just pull the EGI fuse, no need to disconnect gas lines.... You can turn the throttle by hand lol. A cold engine that has been sitting for who knows how long won't give the greatest compression either. I say get it running, the pulses look even and identical between banks.

haha oh i know that..just a brain fart when i was typing. i was just trying to say that I haven't hooked anything up yet, just have the motor in the car is all. haha

and thanks for the info.I can't wait to get this thing running! i'll start work on it sat and let yall know how far i get. and if i run into any problems!

I bought an engine from star motors and they are the only ones that have a warranty on their engines. And they guarantee that it had good compression . So with a week left on their warranty I decided to do a compression text and wat a surprise it had low compression on one OFTHE rotors. I called and they said I had to take the engine to a technician and have paper work. I did that and they did not want to warranty it and after several calls and arguments they said they would give me my money back but that I had to pay the freight shipping and I lost 600 dollars.

well guys sorry i've been kinda lame and haven't been keeping up with this stuff. I've been trying to get parts from people for my motor to get her running while studying for finals! school is so awesome...not.

so far i've got the rats nest and am ordering new hoses. still looking for the ignition coil bracket. I was told that I needed to swap that out because it's different on the s7 jdm motors. and i'm also going to get a NEW wiring harness! oh yeah i'm excited! haha

I had a look at those videos.. The compression doesnt look great. I know its been sitting for a while dry and cold, so the numbers will be on the low side, but I think its got issues.

The rear shows close to 40psi. Even if it was hot and warmed up from running, well lubed, etc, that wouldnt magically make up another 80psi out of thin air. I think when you get close to starting it up for the first time, you'll have trouble getting it to run with those numbers that low, sorry man.

I'll put my 50 bucks down that it needs a reseal, or if it does run, it's going to be a poor performer/starter

Did you prime the housings at all before the compression test?

If this thing has been sitting with no oil in the chambers, you may need to prime it to get a true compression reading.

what I was thinking when I bought the series 6 engine is that I would get the pin out of the series 6 and series 5 for the PFC and just route them the right way. I don't know if you get what I mean.

How do you prime it if you don't mind my asking? i tried looking it up but the search kept bringing back stuff on airplanes...haha is it the same way?

Very simple. Take an old spray bottle, put some Marvel's Miracle Mystery Oil in it, pull the leading spark plug in each housing and spray in several pumps of oil, rotate the engine a few times and that should prime the housings.

Edit: Because its in the car, you may need to rig up some type of tube delivery from a squeeze bottle to get it into the spark plug holes.
