Jdm engine bay data plates rivets or screws?

How come some cars have rivets some have screws? what is legit and what has been tampered with? I noticed most "E" code cars are screwed on.

Usually rivets from my experience on JDM cars.

Although a very original '99 I'm currently working on has screws and hasn't had the bay sprayed.
