ive been told...daily driver?
ive been told that in order to have an rx7 daily driver, you have to drive her "like a race car". is this true? i would have to drive her at high rpms all the time? the rotary specialist at mazda in san luis obispo told me this. he said that if i dont, i will have constant problems with the car. is this true? can i have my baby as a daily driver? and can i drive normal? a lot of you guys drive yours as daily drivers right? what is your guys' opinion?

The only thing really important is to keep up with all regular and preventive maintenance, investigate and diagnose any problems immediately, and to drive it (at least) every couple of months.

The only thing I would worry about is keeping the engine cool in heavy traffic. Make sure you do all the reliablity mods and get another temp gauge, the stock temp gauge is crap. Oh yeah, for some reason(at least in my case) alot of people in bigger cars don't see FD's well, so just keep an extra careful eye out on the road.

I drove my FD in -20 degree Celcius weather (that's -4 degrees farenheit).
Snow on the ground, and I don't think I got over 2000RPM's once. SEE, there's a good place to have an Auto. (Drive with Hold, and it's super easy to handle on ice!)

^^The FAQ's at the top of this forum, and robrobinette.com.
If you had done that before now, your whole thing with the temperature gauge would've been avoided (the stock gauge is POS).
And I'm not being mean by saying that; just showing you how helpful they are.
