Introduction, Pics, and Questions...
Hello Everybody!!!
Going to go pick up my first FD this weekend. I've drivin sports cars all my life, but this will be the first rotary. I know I'm going to love it! I've learned so much in the last two weeks.
Here's a link to the site for pics. Let me know what you think!
As soon as I get it back to Phoenix, it's getting Windows Tinting, Wheels/Tires, AST replaced, Air Intake, Down Pipe, Cat Back, Fuel Pump.
After that comes the radiator, cause it's hot in Phoenix, and silicon vacuum tubing. I learned all this from you guys, so thank you.
Any other hot weather reliability mod opinions are welcome!
Oh yeah, and I had the seller take the car to Banzai Racing in IN, where the car is, and Chris at Banzai tested the compression and turbos. The compression came out
Rear: 120x120x120
Front: 120x120x120
Boost Pattern 10-8-10 in 3rd Gear
12-10-12 in 4th Gear
and he replaced the 4 leading spark plugs for me.
He is awesome!!! Anyone close should use him!!! www.banzairacing.net

From one new RX-7 owner to another, welcome. Hells yeah you're going to want to get those damn windows tinted if you're living in AZ.
Enjoy it man and remember that Ray Crowe at Malloy is your OEM parts hookup.

Thanks guys!!! I wound up paying $24k for it. The AST and downpipe are first along with the air intake and cat back.
The car is all stock except for the stock battery cover. Check it out here...

Those numbers are straight from the test paper that I got from Banzai. Are they good or bad? I assume they're good.
Sorry about the plug comment. I meant to say, he changed out all 4 plugs for me.

Hate to sound so cynical, but I find it extremely hard to believe that (as glassman pointed out) all six rotor faces in your engine are reading exactly the same, as well as the boost rising past the stock 10-8-10 boost pattern simply in 4th gear (plus, how did they know what the boost actually was? I don't see a boost gauge anywhere in the photos...)
Regardless, welcome to the forum!

Firstly: The engine has 21,617 miles on it! This is why the compression is even all round. The Compression Test was visually verified by the owner of the car.
Secondly: As Rotary Engine & Turbo Specialists we have boost gauges here at the shop. We temporarly installed a boost gauge and test drove the car in order to ascertain the readings. These too, were verified by the owner of the car.

An unrelated note - Seppeku, make sure you get a boost controller before that down pipe and intake - especially if that 12-10-12 is true.
