interior fixes info please!

guys, ive pulled off a few panels of the interior. Question 1 - does nayone know of a nice way to fix the passenger door handle? its come away from the plastic at the top - a common problem ive been lead to believe.

Also, my passenger door shuts with a right THUNK...as opposed to a solid thud. Isaw a thread once that showed how to use sealent to fix the problem - but i searched and i cant find it now? anyone have experience of this?

thanks

I would just replace that handle. Since you're in the UK and right hand drive, it may be trickier to find the part. Once they break, it's downhill from there. Mazda supposedly updated the part over time to make it more durable, though.

The tin-can sound is from the side impact bar in the door rattling against the outer door skin. You have to put something between the two so you don't have metal-on-metal contact. Seam sealer is the best stuff to use - might want to do some searching on that.

ok, so its the horozontal bar running the length of the door making the sound?

Im talking about the interior passenger door handle - its just the bar that the passenger pulls on to close the door. is there really no fix?!

There are fixes for the passenger pull handle. Maybe check in the Interior/Exterior section. As for getting a solid sound when closing, I used silicone adhesive caulk between the reinforcement and outer door skin. I then sprayed rubberized undercoating (try to find low odor stuff) on the inside of the door skin/sheet metal. I finished up with some self-adhesive sound deadner to cover all the holes in the door shell, just underneath the trim panel.
It also helped with road noise and reduced vibration through the plastics from the front speakers.
