interested in getting your car tuned by steve kan?
if you are in the midwest area and want to get your car tuned by steve kan, please email ken ( LUV94RX7@aol.com )
we are trying to get enough cars to spread the cost a bit. the plan is to get him to elkhart lake, WI the day before the MRR event (midwest rotary rally)http://www.rx7wi.org/rally/ and then tune our cars on a dyno there, Ken already has contacted a dyno close by that we could use all day.
contact Ken if you are interested: LUV94RX7@aol.com

Steve kan is the best, if not one of the best tuners that ever graced a rx7. Man's work has been featured in numberous magazines and has won all sorts of drag championships.

Steve Kan has been around the RX-7 community for years and has established an excellent reputation for tuning RX-7s, in particular Gen 3s with aftermarket ECUs. He specializes in the Power FC, but also has experience with Peter's purple computer among others. For $300 per car, he travels to your location and tunes up 6 or 8 cars per day using his own wideband O2 setup and a laptop using Datalogit (for PFC).
Most "programmable" aftermarket ECUs, such as the Power FC, come programmed EXTREMELY rich. Steve plumbs in his O2 sensor and rides shotgun tuning while you drive the vehicle. His belief is that this approach to tuning more accurately reflects "real world" driving conditions.
Our club here in Phoenix is planning a tuning day with Steve for sometime in November. When I hear stories of guys who've spent more than $1K to have shops like XS tune their cars, Steve stands out as a true bargain. I've heard nothing but good things about him and I'm looking forward to November. My advice would be to take advantage of this opportunity and get your computer dialied in.
Just my two cents!

Maybe he could come to sweden and tune some sevens with AEM:s
A friend of mine has just recently built his engine, a large street port with GREDDY everything.
Hasn't been going so well on the tuning part though, and the same about another seven here.
P.S Pay no attention to the above line

this is my second attempt to put a good word in for Steve Kan. last time just as i was ready to hit the send button the server stopped functioning... while Steve doesn't need my recommendation i was so impressed w both his attitude, work ethic and abilities that i thought it would be helpful to pass on my experience with him. Steve arrived in wisconsin in the afternoon and went to work on Ken's car. Ken had driven over from Minneapolis and his car, if i may put this properly, was a work in progress. (this isn't a knock on Ken, all projects have their process which includes a beginning etc). i watched Steve take in the overall condition of Ken's car a he didn't so much as blink but got right to work... lot's more than tuning here. he worked on Ken's car 'til 11 p m! i'd say Ken made hi best investment in his car that day by hooking up w Steve. the following day Steve tuned 2 of Dick Lambert's rx7s. a 30,000 mile 95 w a very clean greddy rx6 on it and a 19,000 mile cym w a power fc and the oem turbos. i had previously driven, and worked on, both cars. a week or so later i stopped by and drove the rx6 car and all i can say is that it blew my socks off. i had previously taken some fuel out of the southeast quadrant of the base fuel map and the car had started to respond. but, wow! i guess the vericom said 124 mph. and the car was so well mannered. perfect tip-in, idle etc. so here's to Steve... there no doubt are other really good tuners but Steve is the real deal. a nice guy and a hard worker.

I'll sure to pass on the kudos to Steve. He's up to his eyebrows in engine rebuilding jobs and is rarely on the forum. I, on the other hand, am biding my time in Iraq and spend about 12 hours a day on it .

yes I'm 19 I've had the fd for a year and a few months
6 years ago I didnt even have pubes and would have killed myself in the fd
I'd like to see pics of his car. I don't think it's the exact same color if he did the laser red from 6 years ago.
But he still copied me!!! and I'll be willing to forget about it for a free tuning session.
I'm not sure my car could get much faster than it is right now actually. I'll give Pettit much credit for making my car fast with their products.

I haven't seen an FD yet that Steve couldn't work his magic on and extract some power/torque/smoooother revving.
You'd have to come to TX anyway.....don't you live in Canada or sumthin'? I've never heard of your location before

I'll leave this open for two more weeks. If we don't have five confirmed people signed up for Steve Kan to tune their cars during the MRR event, then I'll let Steve know so he can take that off his schedule. Dyno tuning is out of the question as there was not enough interest to reserve the dyno.
So far we only have three comfirmed and 2 maybes.
If we do get five people they would have to prepay. Best way is probably via credit card to Steve's www.gothamracing.com.
Thanx for your interest.
