how about a sealed cai, as well as the re amemiya style headlights with the vent in them, with this it seems that it would be hard for the c02 to push its way into that compartment.

Is spraying NO2 instead of CO2 dangerous?

CO2 suppresses flames, hence it'd use in fire extinguishers, where as NO2 is extremely flamable. As long as there is no spark, it doesn't matter.

Water seems very good, has one of the higher specific heat, and it's inexpensive..
But can cause problems in the engine bay when very hot?
I head similar problems with turbo housing, cracked for the water (much) sprayed from street..

There was also a mythbusters about cooling beer. seems that ice and salt water cools beer to freezing in similar time as a CO2 fire extinguisher. as for the CO2 vs electric fan debate goes i'm positive that a couple pounds of boiling CO2 will cool an intercooler to below ambient faster than a couple of fans cool it to ambient.

Talk to the guys at DEI. They make a competing system to the N-tercooler product and will be glad to talk to you. I am doing the CO2 system but the full system not just the IC sprayer. I have 3" couplers in and out of the IC that have a bulb in the air flow to cool it and a cooling fuel bar in addition to two 4" x 8" cooling sprayer loops an M2 medium SMIC. The loops are inside the IC duct and I am making every effort to seal the CO2 from the intake. Car is getting a full single upgrade and will not be done for a while yet.

I am really looking forward to seeing how well it works. Want to put it on a dyno with the system off and then on. Be pretty easy to tell how well it works. I'm trying to design a system to trigger the system based on TB intake temps rather than WOT.

Like to know how you make out, you'll probably be done before me.

I don't recall where i read it but it said something to the effect of a 7 degree reduction in intake temperature will gain you a 1 percent power increase.
