I would assume they would perform the same. Where did I talk about comparing identical designs?

I'm talking about an untested design. Wouldn't it be hilarious if the pressure drop on the eBay intercooler offset its size advantage over the stock unit? Without data, who knows? (And I'm ignoring the fact that most users seem to run these without a duct.)

BTW, I run a Pettit CoolCharge III on my track car and it works great... basically the same thing as the M2 Large.
Since Pettit stole the design from M2/ASP, it pretty much is the same.

Yep, the intercoolers are generally the same but the ducts are slightly different. Hard to notice unless you have 2 sitting in front of you. Wish M2 was still around. They def. made some great products.

PFS SMIC PHOTO?

does anyone have a photo of a PF Supercars SMIC that has been fabricated recently?

i'm wondering if the PFS intercooler end tanks are both tapered narrow toward the bottom or if PFS makes theirs like the later ASP/M2 medium (tapered and straight ends). they don't offer a photo of their intercooler on their website...

AFAIK, the PFS medium design is essentially the same as it's always been, with both end tanks tapered. The only design change is that they now come with rolled tubing for the inlet and outlet. The older design was pretty substantial cast aluminum tubing that was then welded onto the tanks. Sorry, I don't have a picture of the newer ones at hand, but I wouldn't expect that there is any difference in performance.
A friend recently purchased a duct for his PFS and it was identifical to mine....heavy fiberglass with gel-coat. One of the better ducts for a medium SMIC IMO.
