intercooler and pfc question?

I have the power fc set for bolt ons except for intercooler and Im about to add a intercooler and boost controller tomorrow. Is it safe to add the intercooler on or do i have to have it tuned for an intercooler?

Please list all your relevant mods. Are you still using the PFC base map?

The only way to verify if it's safe on YOUR car is to run the car with a wideband--either get your own or go to a properly equipped dyno.

I have intake, downpipe, midpipe and exhaust. WHen I bought the PFC I told them what I had and it came tuned for these bolt ons. I didn't have enough to get the commander at the same time so now im stuck. Will I be alright to run a intercooler or do I need to have it tuned before I put it on?

While you should be fine, the best bet is to dyno tune it. It doesn't cost too terribly much and your car will thank you for it

When you install your boost controller be sure to set it at factory boost (i have no idea what the PFC basemap is like so it's all I can advise) and tune it, richen her up if you need to and go up with the boost a little at a time making sure to allow the neccasary fuel.

good luck.

I would say you will be safe with an intercooler but try to keep your boost below 12 psi if possible.

You NEED to get a commander. Tune-by-mail maps are usually ****. You need to see what's going on with your maps. IMO, you need the commander before an intercooler.
