Question intercooler cover

i got a question fella's...i recently put the hks intake on my 7. after everything was done, i noticed that there is a hole, an opening on the plastic covering on the stock intercooler. i went out and bought some alum. sheets and made a kinda cover to put over top of the opening. should i block the hole, or should that be open?? i thought it should be covered to protect it from heat but now im not so sure. help me out please. thanks

Go to a hardwar store and buy a thin sheet of metal. Cut out a cover and rivet it on or you can use silicone.
