Intake temps..hot weather

I live in south Texas and it is hot as hell here. I was wondering what kind of intake temps people see. Also how much power can be gained by cooling? Is it possible to get close to ambient temp using aftermarket IC?

My intake temps are roasting around 80 C during the day. No problems with driving though. I keep waiting for it to explode!

Good grief... I'm seeing 35-45C on the street. even here in stanky hot VA.

At the track, I pit if I see 70C (which I don't anymore with a large IC)

Well I'm assuming the temp is accurate. It's coming off my Apexi FC commander. The
IC is stock. At night here it is still around 90 F so it is hot. I am going to be doing a larger v mount and new radiator setup with a vented hood so I am hoping it drops the temps WAY down. That's why I am curious if anyone knows what kind of difference it makes. Is it really worth a large expense?

+1 on the Vegas heat. It really sucks this time of year here. I try not to drive the FD if possible.
