Insurance??

Hey everyone. I've got a friend (20) that's interested in purchasing an fd. It's either a black 93-95 (he doesn't remember) selling for about 13k with 60k on it. The previous owner babies the car like crazy and supposedly, nothing's wrong with it except for the lower end turbo not spooling correctly. That's pretty much all I know about the car. What I'm wondering is how much insurance would it be a year for such a car? How much insurance do each of you pay now per year? Any information at all would be helpful. Thanks! ^_^

At 20 years of age, with a spotless record, and every discount available, I pay nearly 300 per month for full coverage. Trust me, I shopped around, its the same everywhere. If you own the car outright you can carry liability only which runs around 175.00 but if he is financing the vehicle he will have to carry full coverage. Owning and FD under the age of 25 is an expensive endevor.

Call the frigging insurance company or go online to get a quote. The insurance varies widely from location to location and by exact insuree demographics. None of the responses here will mean anything at all to your friend, other than to verify that it will be a hell of a lot of money.

It doesn't matter what anyone else pays. All that matters is what he will have to pay.

Tell him to get on the phone and stop wasting your (and everyone elses) time.

Follow Rynbergs advice. Each region differs, and your personal circumstances differ as well.

I am 25, have a 94 20b RX-7, stated full coverage insurance for $65,000.00; 250.00 deductable, 1mill/3mill/1mill insurance policies. I pay 257 every 6 months.

This is something like 43.00 a month.

Fricking Kansas! At least we don't get snow...

Here in the Bay Area, I'm paying about $450 every 6 months for less coverage than you have, with a perfect driving record (and being a married 29-year old).

Don't call Geiko, no matter how expensive the alternative is.
