Instrument Hood Removal
Hey guys,
What's the secret to removing the instrument hood/cluster on the 93? I've got the obvious front and side screws out, but I seem to be hung up in the back somewhere.

Be very careful, the clip is bent and you can crack the hood. I don't know how you can get it out. I had to force mine. Snapped the whole thing in half. If you can get to the screws holding the guages on and separate the two peaces you might be able to get to the bent clip.

you just need to pull it out harder. it is held in by a few clips just like the other interior parts. don't be too afraid to break the clips. just be carful when gripping the hood.

The key thing to keep in mind is that you need to pull the hood horizontally away from the dash. Pull it straight back and not up.

Thanks guys, its out. Its hard to believe how hard you have to pull to get those three clips out. Funny though, I had what must have been two out of three out and I took a break. While I was sitting there, the third one popped out on its own and then I was free!
Now I just hope I can get the electrical connections back together on the way back in!

Hehe once you've done it once tho, it only gets easier. I've probably pulled that thing at least 5 times by now and i can have the gauge cluster , a/c panel, and shifter panel taken apart in like 30 min or less now, haha. An impressive yet somewhat useless skill.
