Question Installing cheap race seat

Ok, so I gutted my interior, and traded my very worn-out seats for a set of very nice stock FD wheels/tires. Now, when I go to tune the car later this summer, I'll need to have a seat in there. I kept the factory sliders/brackets off the FD seats, so I have them available.

I want to just throw in a cheap APC or Autozone $150 race seat for now, and will eventually upgrade the seat to a nicer one once I get further along in the project.

Do any of you have seats installed that did not come with, or do not use a replacement model-specific slider/bracket?

Did you modify your stock sliders to fit? If so, how did you do it?

TIA!

If it's a bottom mount, most people end up making adapters to mate up the seat attachment points to the stock sliders. If it's side mount, you'll probably have to fab up some brackets to work. You can look and see if MemoryFab has some rails/brackets which will get you close:

yeah, i was planning on some 1/8x1 flat bar, with holes punched to mount to the bottom of the seat, as well as holes to mount it to the factory slider.

i guess i am just looking for some validation on that idea by seeing what other people did.

mine were bottom mount,so I made a bracket to fit the stock holes. The seats DO tend to be wider than stock though,so keep that in mind that way yur door is able to close properly.

Good Luck
