Installed new Apexi Turbo Timer/A:F gauge

Got the new Turbo Timer/A:F gauge/Battery volts meter this weekend. It is pretty sweet. Very Very small.

It works awesome. And I know I need to verify this at the dyno but the A:F ratio was under 10 the whole time I was at WOT and that is without an ECU with my current mods. I am still buying an ECU but just letting you know that he was showing that I wasn't lean.

Also if anyone else has this toy, let me know. I am wondering if there is a way to change the minimum and maximum A:F ratios on the unit. From the factory it will only go as low as 10 and as high as 20 and at WOT I am below 10 but don't know by how much. Anyone know about this?

Those A/F numbers you're quoting don't make much sense to me. The O2 sensor gives off a voltage from 0.0 to about 1.0, with lower numbers being lean and higher numbers being rich. This is what the PowerFC displays. Most A/F gauges convert this voltage to the stoich scale (for lack of a better term, it's the number you'd see on a wideband dyno) where higher numbers = lean and lower = rich. It looks like that's what this gauge reads. In that case you're running super rich if you're below 10 at WOT. I've read that most tuners shoot for 11.5 - 12.1. Of course, this is all based on the stock O2 sensor, so take that into account.

How do you know you're running under 10 if the range is between 10 and 20? Are you manually calculating A/F using the O2 reading? Anyway, I think it's fixed between 10 and 20 so I don't think it can be adjusted, but my manual was all in Japanese so I still don't have a clue on how to use all the features. One thing to note though, I've found the O2 readings to be off from the readings of my PowerFC commander so I have doubts about the A/F meter's accuracy... You would think they should give the same readings since they're both A'PEXi products.

That's a freakin sweet little deal there. How much did you pay? Where'd you get it? Where do you plan to mount it? I like!

Well it calculates A:F ratio off of the O2 sensor reading. According to the gauge when I am at WOT (10 psi) the reading will go to 10 and flash red (telling me that I am out of it's range). So according to the gauge it is getting enough fuel but I don't know how much b/c the gauge won't show me A:F ratios below 10 (this is why I wanted to be able to change the min. values). Also everyone is telling me that I should be running lean with my mods and the stock ECU. When it is at idle or cruising it is at stoich. A:F (14.6-7) which is good. I guess I just need to compare it to the dyno's A:F gauge.

nope, its the other way around. lower number = rich, higher number = lean. its the air to fuel ratio, meaning amount of air versus the amount of fuel.

I got it at a local Phoenix shop. The price was $89. I mounted it directly under my AVC-r in the glove compartment. I made it so the glove compartment can still be shut to hide them away. Here is an older pic just showing the AVC-r but you can get the idea where the new little toy goes.
