Question installed midpipe, now i have a problem?

i installed my midpipe today. and now my check engine light is on (oxygen sensor code). also my crapometer a/f gauge is stuck on the fisrt lean mark. when i installed the mp, i left the hose that connected into the converter from the airpump dangeling. could this be the problem? i also noticed that wire going to the o2 sensor was a little loose, probally my problem right? i had to drive it home from the shop i was working at, 10 min drive. do you think i messed anything up? im going to wait for it to cool down, then ill check the o2 sensor wire. anybody got any other suggestions? thxs, brad

Sounds like you are on the right track, the O2 sensor wire being loose could cause both of your problems since they seem related. I don't see how a midpipe would cause your problems.

ok it was the O2 wire. i guess i moved it just enough today to break it off. its a clean cut even with where it plugs into the sensor. please tell me theres away to reconnect the wire, without buying a new sensor. anybody with past O2 experience got any suggestions. thxs, brad

you will have to resolder it... i would just suggest buying a new Bosch Universal if you havent changed your O2 sensor in a while

any auto parts store for 20-30 bucks... really easy install. Dont worry you didnt run lean... since your o2 sensor got disconnected your AF didnt get a reading...you most likely ran ridiculously rich...maybe even flooded the car. You'll probably have a hard time starting her again, but just do a search on how to unflood your FD if she doesnt start up quickly.
