Wink Installed midpipe and ecu

and my car sounds like ! It sounded good before the mp but now its just a weed eater on crack. I feel sorry for the people I race. You guys were right about the PE.

It spikes at 13 and holds at 11psi which is good enough for me. It completly breaks the tires loose in 2nd gear when the 2nd turbo kicks in . I felt a huge gain on low end but maybe because my cat was clogged.

Anyways I very happy about the performance I got out of it.

What kind of exhaust do you have? Is the midpipe really annoying when driving down the highway? I'm just wondering when I get mine ad install it if its gonna start to annoy the hell out of me.

Haven't gotten on the highway yet but it shouldn't be that bad.

Yeah, I agree the midpipe makes most aftermarket exhausts sound like crap. My stock muffler with midpipe rumbles at idle, but you can't hear it unless you're outside the car. There isn't much of a sound increase by adding a midpipe with the stock catback. It's much quieter than having a aftermarket catback with a cat.

The resonated sound much better I'm told (I've never heard a non resonated, only the former).

Resonated VS mid pipe

A friend of mine has an R-1 with down pipe and Apex N-1 dual and it was loud with the mid pipe.....so he tried a resonated mid pipe and there was very little differance with the N-1...ow ever he did say there was a slight difference in low end and slight loss of high end. Now he's running a high flow cat and it's only mildly quieter.

Does having modified exhaust mean it MUST be loud??

Thumbs up

A resonated mid-pipe takes some of the droning sound from the cockpit and is noticably quieter at normal driving conditions. At WOT they are both deffining especially when the second turbo comes on through 7000rpm.......G.

I have a full exhaust with RB duel tip catback. It does sound like a weed eater, but a fast one. Have fun and blow some flames.

When I had my midpipe on my car with dp and N1 CB it sounded like 5 Harleys - it was insanely loud. I didn't care how fast the car was it was too annoying - I changed to a hi-flo cat - much better - sounds a hair louder than dp and cb but sounds awesome at WOT. I also got a lot of low and midrange throttle response by going to a hi-flo over a midpipe.

Did a highway run and it is fine, you can barley hear it at 80 mph (inside the car).

I just happened to pull on to this really dark road last night, so I watched the pasenger side mirror for flames and it lit up the ground

I think dp and catback would be fine on these cars but once you go mp, it's twice as loud!
