Installed AzeKnightz solenoid rack

Man oh man does the stock sequential system suck!

After going back and forth on a small single or sequential twins. I opted to ride out the twins for two reasons, i love the instant response, i dont see how it can be matched by a single. For how i use my car, i dont see a single being beneficial sans the considerably simpler engine bay/vac system. In southern DE, even with playing around, im rarely going further than what 4th gear allows, so top end pull through 4th into 5th isnt of concern to me. The strong 40-90mph mid range is far more usable around here. Oh yeah and the 2nd reason, money. I'd rather have money to fix any issues that arise when the car is at JPR than just throw 400hp onto the car and need to fix suspension items/etc

The transition between the two turbos is much smoother and actually happens at the same time each time, big bonus imo. The install was actually simple if you take your time. I've actually never worked on a FD before and i had it knocked out in about 5hrs from pulling into the garage to the test drive.

Only issue i have is a high idle, darn vac leak, probably where the MAP sensor's nipple since i changed its source to a more easily accessible one thats also easier to baby sit(and one less thing attached to the plenum underneath!)

This is the only pic i have before buttoning everything up under the hood, but it shows it all installed.

I got this rack on my FD and I love it, I was able to fit mine underneath the UIM after the great folks at RX7.com modified it.

I may see if JPR can move it underneath, but im keen on keeping them away from the heat. So, unsure yet. But i cant wait to get the car up there once my Vmount shows up for a tune and a once over by some professional eyes! Gonna have them remove anything/everything that can be. WHat a freakin mess under there.

The crew at Rotary Performance modified the UIM and even built a heatshield for it, I have to dig up the pics. If the stock plastic ones held up to the heat for 20 years I'm not too worried about these heavy duty ones.

Well, got some miles finally on the car with them. They are a must have imo. The transiton between the turbos is so smooth. Feels almost flat power wise. Makes for a much more predictable car on the track.

Only went farming once this week..lol

Thank you for posting this up Jason.

I maybe biased, BUT I think all twins should be using some sort of aftermarket high temp solenoids to control the turbo system.

I was proud to produce such product and have yet to have any complaint on this solenoid kit.

Glad you enjoyed it, have fun and be safe ;-)

Cheers,
EZ

Around $600 from what I've seen - Although I believe its not still in production. They come up occasionally in the for sale section.

$600 was about year and a half ago.

Current GB price is $700.61 shipped within US lower 48 states.

Outside US, shipping is additional.

YOU may see one for sale ONCE in a blue moon, but that's it. I had a member who purchased a kit from me, sold his FD. Bought another one and came back to make another purchase on my kit because he felt that it was a "must" needed upgrade just like a downpipe.
